Margaret Acker is a registered psychologist who has been counselling individuals, couples, and families in Victoria, Saanich and the surrounding area since 1991. She specializes in working with couples using the Imago approach to relationship issues, which includes healing relationships, improving loving communication, and enhancing emotional and sexual intimacy. Margaret also provides premarital counselling and works with individuals, families, teens, and children, tailoring her approach to each client's needs.

In couples therapy, she focuses on strengthening loving communication and enhancing emotional and sexual intimacy. Her services include pre-marital counselling, family counselling, and parenting advice and consultation. She also offers individual counselling for personal growth, as well as support during separation and divorce.
Margaret’s therapeutic approach is interactive and solution-focused, providing feedback and support to help clients resolve relationship issues. She employs a variety of methodologies, tailoring her therapy to meet the individual needs of her clients. Margaret’s compassionate yet analytical approach helps clients achieve the personal growth and change they are capable of accomplishing.
Margaret has extensive training in Imago Therapy, behavioural therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), supported by ongoing professional development. She taught Experimental Psychology, Behaviour Modification, Interpersonal Relations, and Advanced Communication Skills in the Psychology Department at Camosun College for 25 years. Margaret has also developed behavioural programs for children with emotional and physical challenges and has taught numerous parenting courses.
